The High Court has rejected an attempt by Dechert to get a public hearing for its fee dispute with former client ENRC over legal bills worth £11m.
The ruling upholds the principle of legal privilege between a client and its legal advisers and has been hailed as an important defence against a potential erosion of client confidentiality.
